Make Money Tattooing!
These days people are looking more and more for financially lucrative careers that not
only pay well but give a sense of personal satisfaction. For lots of artistic and creative types, this makes the
tattoo industry incredibly enticing. Top notch artists can make hundreds of dollars an hour for their work and even
the average tattooist can make pretty good money, especially for a career that has no formal education.

That doesn't mean you can make money tattooing over night. It takes a lot more than just
picking from the number of tattoo starter kits out there to make it in the biz. You're going to need to do your
work. To start off with, you will need some artistic inclination. If you're not able to color inside the lines you
should not be putting ink into anybody's skin. While raw talent is certainly helpful on the artistic side of
tattooing, you need to take the time to refine your talent. Whether you do this in art school or on your own is up
to you, but in the end the portfolio you come up with is going to get you work. If you don't take the time to
develop your artistic technique to a high enough standard, you will never get your foot in the door.
It takes a lot more than knowing how to draw or tattoo starter kits to become a tattoo
artist. You are going to need an apprenticeship, and the only way you get an apprenticeship is by having a well
designed professional looking portfolio.. You will need to assemble a collection of at least tattoo designs you
have done when looking for an apprenticeship. Remember, you do not make money when serving as an apprentice in a
tattoo shop, so you will need to have another way to pay the bills while serving your time.

While apprenticed, you will learn everything you need to know about tattooing that you do
not learn in art school. There is a lot more to good tattooing than having an eye for lines. You will learn how to
clean and sterilize your equipment, as well as proper use of the various tools of the trade ranging from the
therma-fax to the tattoo guns, to their power supplies. Depending on your arrangement with your master, your
apprenticeship ends whenever you feel like it does. Obviously however it isn't over until after you've already done
some of your first tattoos under the supervision of your master.
Once you've completed your apprenticeship you can pick any one of a number of tattoo
starter kits and begin making money in this exciting field. Whether you open a shop of your own, or find a
chair in a preexisting studio, you'll be on the path to making money as a tattoo artist and loving every second of
it.
